In the summer of 2001 David L. Marks was introduced to music producer Frank Landers by fellow band mate Bobby Figueroa.

David's band, "The Beach Party Band", was made up of former members of the Beach Boys band.

David recruited Producer Frank Landers along with fellow former Beach Boy band members to record several Beach Boy hit songs with Matt Jardin, (son of Al Jardin), doing Brian Wilson lead parts for a promo CD for their new band: "The Beach Party Band".

At the conclusion of that project, David, while still following a solo music career, hired Frank Landers to co-produce his new solo album "Leavin' California" on the Atlantis Records Label.

December 12th, 2001 the former guitarist of the "Beach Boys", music Artist David L. Marks, signed with Atlantis Records Inc. to Record and Produce his new album, he titled "Leavin' California", under the direction of Music Producer Frank Landers.

David's album was recorded at Atlantis-Zion Studio, and engineered & Produced by Frank Landers and David L. Marks.

Micky Dolenz, Dean Torrence and some of the former Beach Boy band members and other 60's icons recorded tracks on David's new album.

The album was completed at Atlantis-Zion Studio but never released to the public and is in the Atlantis vault.

During David's recording sessions he met Garth Dennis who was also recording his new album on Atlantis Records.

Landers pitched an idea to David Marks and Garth Dennis to do a cover of the Beach Boys hit "Kokomo", Reggae Style.

Production promptly began on a cover version of "Kokomo", Reggae Style.

The song was completed and never released to the public and is in the Atlantis vault.
